Intro to Shibori: Indigo Dye Workshop

Learn the basics of the Japanese art of resist dyeing with indigo at this Introduction to Shibori workshop. This workshop will focus on how to prepare and maintain an indigo vat, as well as how to create a variety of patterns through different folding, tying and clamping methods.

All supplies are provided, including a 100% cotton tea towel and a set of two cloth napkins. Extra items will be available for purchase with prior notice, including jersey scarves ($15 each). Feel free to bring your own items to dye instead, but please limit to two reasonably sized pieces (like pillow cases, etc). Natural fibers work best to dye, including cotton, linen and rayon. Please register extra items in advance to ensure availability of materials.
