VIRTUAL Intro to Shibori: Indigo Dye Workshop

About The Event
Learn the basics of the Japanese art of resist dyeing with indigo from the comfort of your own home at this Virtual Introduction to Shibori workshop. This workshop will focus on how to prepare and maintain an indigo vat, as well as how to create a variety of patterns through different folding, tying and clamping methods. We are happy to offer this workshop as part of the Children's Museum of New Hampshire Makers Fest!
Supplies provided include:
Pre-reduced indigo dye
Soda ash and reduction agent (hydrosulfite)
Rubber gloves (one pair)
Items to dye (a 100% cotton tea towel and a set of two cloth napkins)
Supplies you need to provide:
Bucket lid (1) (or a way to cover your bucket if you don't have a lid)
Extra items to dye - optional (natural fibers only – i.e. cotton, rayon, linen, bamboo, etc.)
Extra rubber bands, wood blocks, gloves - optional
PRICE with FREE SUPPLY PICKUP/DELIVERY: $35 per household (pickup in Concord or delivery within 20 miles of Concord)
PRICE with PRIORITY SHIPPING: $40 per household
